MY STORY
Why I do what I do?
I am asked this question quite often so I have thought about this at length. I truly feel that love connects the world. My parents, along with my beloved Nana and Poppop, taught me by example to help the person next to me and to always work hard in this life. I have always had a lot of energy but did not always use it in the most positive ways. After meeting my husband and the birth of my daughter, my parents guidance really began to echo in my mind. Ava Grace is my inspiration...I want to teach her about the world and how she can make a difference. After our first toy drive in 2007, the year Ava Grace was born, the ball started rolling! With my husband's unconditional love and endless encouragement, I kept reaching out and connecting with amazing people of all ages with many different stories! Their stories are now my stories! The name Community Warriors just came to me one day when I was thinking about how to describe a group of people who will stop at nothing to do what they are able to help those in need! I thought about Jenny McCarthy's book, "Mother Warrior," a great read! I am a firm believer that all you need is a big heart to make a difference in this world; I value the gifts of dedication, time, and smiles! I feel this is my purpose and I hope to keep reinventing the ways to help others for as long as I am able! Many thanks to ALL as I could not do this alone! This is truly the best TEAM and I feel so blessed to be a member!
